Just been having a peek at them.

What exactly is involved? also is it open to geldings? (the word breeding in the title has made me wonder!)

Sorry for being a numpty lol

Its open to mares/geldings/stallions.

Its basically a showcase of the best event stock in the UK, as it tries to emphasise on showing what is giving best breeding lines for eventing.I dont know why its called 'World' as its only UK horses that go! But I suppose they are hoping to have foreign visitors at some point?
Anyway- You have the in hand showing classes for the 2 and 3 year olds, and then actual one day event championsips for the 4, 5, 6 year olds.
ANyone can do the in hand classes with their babies, but the 4 to 6 year olds do qualifying one day events all over the country during the year, and the ones that are highly placed qualify for the Champs at the end of October....

Sounds fun

I guess they are full of very nice horses then.
There are a couple of qualifiers near me. May have a bash at the 5yrs olds
What sort of hieghts are the fences and level of dressage?

Its great fun- the only thing is with the qualifying ODE's is that it does become a bit of a dressage competition, which, in short,! is annoying and allows all the professionals to qualify as they do seem to end up with better marks on the dressage, what with our lovely unbiased dressage judges....

4 year old qualifiers is run over an INTRO course, champs is PN dressage and showjumping, Intro XC. 5 year olds PN qualifiers, champs are Novice Dress and SJ, PN XC and 6 year olds Novice qualifiiers, and champs are Intermediate Dress and SJ, Novice XC.

Intro is 90 cms
PN is 1m
Novice is 1m10

Dressage tests are very straightforward at all levels

I would say from easy Prelim test at Intro, harder prelim test at PN and about Novice standard test for Novice BE.
