My new horse is not a very good traveller - he gets very nervous travelling alone and constantly paws at the base of the lorry, and despite wearing boots has pulled shoes off/cut himself on a couple of occasions.
When we first had him he was bad to load but have managed to solve the issue with a dually halter, so loads well now - just gets very anxious when we start moving.
I have tried hanging a net but he is too stressed to eat and the way the lorry is designed there is nowhere obvious to put a mirror.
I am concerned he will damage himself or the lorry, but has to get used to travelling alone as can not always have a companion on board.
Any ideas?
