Is anyone going?

I'm taking Mrs Spaniel for a day out! I'm really quite excited about it!
I think she's going to love all the have a go activities and it'd be nice to find out if there's some hidden agility/flyball clubs near us that I can sign her up for - so far the only ones I've seen are miles away or clash with the days I see my part loan. Might enter her in some of the novelty dog show classes as well!

Victory in Waggiest tail will be mine!!

Well we had a fab day! We entered some of the show classes, best yearling, best gundog, waggiest tail, appealing eyes and best bitch but daft dog kept screaming for my OH outside the ring so we didn't get any prizes.

We had a go at chasing the lure, agility and flyball - she absolutely loved flyball and was getting the ball back to me within 5 seconds, I have no idea if that's a good time or not for a beginner but we did find out about a team local to us, so that's my Sunday mornings booked for the foreseeable future! :)
We had a go at agility and was praised as a "natural" for search and rescue have a go. Clever Pup. They had a gundog have a go scurry and a special spaniel have a go course which we got there too late for but sounded like she would have really enjoyed. Unfortunately the nearest working training group near is is just a bit too far for me to travel too after work and riding.

All in all we had a great day out, and can't wait for our first flyball training session in a fortnight!

That's great, I did flyball Saturday and Skye's team came 1st and she got her silver award that she earned at the Champs and Star's team came 2nd. I did a couple of runs of agility today, but wasn't really feeling well, so didn't do them all. I walked Tayen around the show, it was very busy! What flyball team are you joining? Under 5 secs is good for a beginner!

We're going to join the Ball Busters! I think she'll pick it up quite quickly, we already play target games where she hits a cone with her paw and come back for a treat so hopefully she'll make the mental jump between the two soon. It only took one go for her to figure out to run down the lane on her own and come back.
OH has already got ideas for her to be a champion but as long as its fun for her (and wear her out) that's the main thing!

That's great, hopefully see you at competitions next year. Skye got the box in one session, jump on, catch the ball, jump off, but it took Star quite a while, she thought the idea was to jump on the box, watch the ball fly past her, jump off and get the ball, but she's got it now.
