Remember reading a thread a while back !!!!!

If you pay your yard owner for lorry or trailer parking, are they in any way responsible if the trailer/lorry goes missing or gets damaged.

Are you just paying for the parking space or added security

Depends what the agreement is. I would say that added security was not an obligation - their minimum obligation is to allow access to you and provide a safe environment for you to access. Plenty of places put up signs reminding you that they are not responsible for the security of your belongings.

depends on the contract, but most will have a disclaimer which you have to agree to. ie NO rsponsibility taken who/whatsoever for damage or theft to parked vehicles. i charge for lorry/ trailer parking and take NO responsibility whatsoever. contracts state this. however the more i have parked on my premises (trailers/lorrys) does affect my insurance, as it does increase my risk of being burgurled. however if you fancied paying £2 per hour for parking i am sure i could change my insurance cover.

You are more than likely to be simply paying for the space - like a Council Car park in town.

If the yard were responsible none would offer parking as the nil or fairly low charges made would never cover even a single thief raid on the place. Def for the horsebox owner to cover I would say unless offered explicitly. But best if YO makes that clear.
