I'm trying to arrange a beech ride for my PC branch in the October half term. We usually use Cakefarm stables in West Wittering as a base to park up etc (We're over an hour away) but they are not answering thier phone.

Does anyone know if the stables is still in buisness? Have they changed thier phone number? Are there any other stables near a beach who might be prepared (at a fee of course!) to allow a PC branch to park up and hack down?

Some 30 odd very dissapointed kids - including mine - are riding on your answers! Help!

No way are you allowed to do this through PC? I wanted to do one last year and the DC said "It's not something our pony club would like to endorse"!

Sorry can't help with question just curious to see if it was just our branch being boring :p

What about going to Climping and just parking your lorries there? That way you cut out the middle man...

Just check the tide tables to make sure you'll have enough sand for a good blast.

Of course you can!

We've done beech rides as a branch for several years. There are H&S rules of course - you must have at least one mounted adult with equine specific first aid. There are rules for the number of mounted adults in ratio with the kids depending on ages etc. In some branches there might need to be a bit of diplomacy if soemone wanted to come who really wouldn't be safe - but that hasn't happened to us. (Yet!)

Perhaps your branch doesn't fancy it much - but many others do. If you're Surrey based perhaps you'd like to come along as a guest!

How much parking is there at Climping? We'd be at least 10 boxes plus trailers. Could be as mich as 15 vehicles all together. Would I need to clear it with the Local authority?

Go to Hayling Island. (bottom A3) As long as the tide is out, it's an incredible beach!! LOADS of parking (group of friends went, about 10 boxes and there was loads of room.... FREE too!!!)

Probably closer to you coming from Surrey anyway?

I used to live in Climping about 15 years ago... Was a nudist beach then!! Would be interesting with a group of PCers!!!! ;) ;)

Didn't see any nudists there last year - but you never know your luck! I'll look up hayling island now....

Thanks!

Can you PM me thier phone number? I keep ringing and it is never answered. I wonder if they have changed it in the last year.
