Do you use all the pieces?

My boys turnout needs replacing, so far we have made do with a LW and 200g MW and have under rugs to layer if required which has suited fine up until now.

Looking at getting the Buster 200 and then saw the trio set and wondered if it was worth the investment?

I was just on their website thinking the same!
Would have to save my pennies for quite a while, however I highly rate PE rugs, there isn't a better make for fit, quality and comfort in my opinion!
Not cheap however!

I've been looking at the same thing. I don't think I'll get the full set as my boy, even with a full clip is nearly always warm enough in a 200g and only has an extra fleece underneath when it's very cold, so think I'll just get the outer rug and the 100g & 200g liners. I'm told they're good for horses with big shoulders - anyone know if this is true?

I've swapped my Rambo duo for the PE trio and really like it, it's much warmer as a deeper fit and the neck covers are brilliant, I also have the stable trio so no 'cold' rug changes it's very well made but Heavy
It did give my horse rubbed withers but he did wear his rug for about 2 months longer than he normally does this year due to the poop weather, the main thing is is that it doesn't look like a mini skirt on him which the Rambos do a bit
I think they are very good value for money (PE) and would reccomend the trio, much easier to clean the rug through the winter as the liners easily fit in the washing machine (6'6) and dry quickly x

Ps my horse has A massive shoulder a fit him well, you can also get a 10% discount with the code from the PE Facebook page :)

I've had two of these and a rambo duo, and I prefer the PE for the rug depth and fit of the neck, however the liners seem under-sized for the outer. I am about to experiment with buying a 6'9 liner for the 6'6 rug.

I don't use all the bits - you could probably get away with the outer, the thick neck and one thick liner. The outer is a decent weight all by itself.

I have given up on stable rugs, and just keep these rugs on all the time in winter.

I bought the PE no fill outer on eBay, and going to buy the 100g and 200g liners for this winter. New horse came with a heavy turnout rug so I'm hoping that's all she will need. I leave turnout rugs on in the stable and they only come in during the worst weather so should be ok.

I have PE buster trio set for my mare :) love PE rugs swapping all my lot onto them slowly for t/o & stable (except flysheets as i prefer ones with bellies).

I have ended up buying my mare one of their rainsheets too which is fab. I also bought their 40gs for my wimpiest ones which will be perfect for early autumn but through summer they needed rainsheets too. So I dont know how it would work out price wise but starting again I would buy - rainsheet, 100g liner, 200g liner, and 200g rug. + a 350g liner if really cold/wimpy horse. I think that combination would cover just about every weather, from no fill to 400g/ 550g, plus if you needed to wash/ let your 200g rug dry out, you could pop the 200g/350g liner underneath the rainsheet temporarily. You can even buy separate 100g/200g neck covers to replace the no fill rainsheet neck as a winter spare if you wanted :). Likewise you can buy a spare liner if you find you use a certain weight one a lot so you can wash and interchange them :). Basically I love my PE rugs and think they are well worth the money but advise thinking about what weights you will want and use before buying so you dont end up buying even more of their lovely rugs like me! :D

So I understand it comes with various liners, and you can purchase liners separately to go under it.
However what happens if the outer needs replacing, do you just buy the LW no fill rug and attach the liners as needed? Only problem I can see if needing to replace outer being that the LW no fill isn't 1680D.

I wouldn't buy any other rug! They fit brilliantly and my horse that gets rubbed by everything was rubless at the end of both winters he used it! I use it in the stable and field as well, and it's easier to store, clean etc than using multiple rugs. With regards to the price it's far cheaper than buying all the different weight stable and turnout rugs! Can't reccomend enough!

I think the outer is the 100g
