Pedal bone problems?

Have any of you experienced a horse laying down a significant amount of extra bone on the side of one/any of its pedal bones?

Vet said it is a rare occurrence, but if any of you have been here before then please get in touch, I'd appreciate it.

Svend mainly, but we also had the help of another female vet who was German/Polish (couldn't quite make the accent out!) and an intern. Rage had quite the entourage!
