HELP!!

Hi , Up ?? WOW , Never heard of them rotating up ! What did the Vet say , I assume you have had Xrays ? Also your Farrier , have they said why this has happened ?

Sounds like you have a negative palmar angle?

This happens when the structures in the back of the foot are weak/compromised and is common in shod horses although some barefooters get this too.

You can address symptoms or you can fix cause - your choice.

To fix cause you need to build up the back of the foot, digital cushion, cartilages, make sure the frog is in excellent health. This isn't done by letting the heels (wall) grow tall, but by ensuring the horse can use the back of his/her foot in comfort and having a structured movement/exercise programme. You may need to think about diet depending on the overall health of the hoof.

You could do this at home with the support of someone who knows their stuff or you could send to somewhere like Rockley Farm where they will do the hard bit for you.

pm if you want more info.

Ditto.

Vet can't work out that toe of pedal bone is up because heel of foot is down?

Has he never seen a see-saw?
