has anyone used this bit. looking to put on daughters 12hh welsh b. he is lovely but daughter wants to canter out of the school, she only 7. but I get panic on when he just thinks he can get the upper hand, I would not forgive myself if he nicked off,, which before anyone says get a bombproof pony. ALL horses and ponies could have a moment, he is in dropped snaffle. so would a pee wee be suitable just to give a little brake stop

It's a very thin mouth piece. I tried it with my mare and it did not work at all. It is not meant to be a strong bit so I don't think it is what you think you need to be honest :)

I can't help I'm afraid, no experience of this bit, but just wanted to say I'm very impressed with your daughter wanting to canter out of the school! Mine won't even canter in the school...

My big boy was in one when I bought him.... Ditched it... It looked barbaric... He now goes well in hanging cheek snaffle to help with stearing . I am no bit expert, but a strong pony on our yard goes well in a two ring gag.

ohh noo to gag, thanks for the reply though. just need that little extra. as a just in case. he is a really lazy boy. but going up our front field he just was a bit cheeky lucky it's uphill so he had enough half way up!

I have one for my IDx mare. Her dentist recommended changing her Sprenger kk ultra bit as she was chewing it too much and damaging her teeth - he wanted her in a straight bar. I researched and although the pee wee is narrow, ID's don't have much room in their mouths with a fleshy tongue and its action can be mild. There are two settings so it can have more leverage. Breaks aren't normally a problem for her,but I do have a kk ultra bit with a lower ring that I have used for very exciting days only....

I've used it to great effect with a very strong, but sensitive event horse. The stronger the bit you put in his mouth, the more he pulled and tanked (but in a snaffle he just took off in major excitement). After trying what seemed like hundreds of bits I came across the Pee wee and suddenly everything came together. He loved it, and was controllable. Having said that my friend rode him in it and hated it. She said it felt steering with a pair of handlebars rather than a bit!

daughter has a habit of NOT keeping her hands still. little will does not mind this, if he had the pee wee in and hands were flapping would that affect the bits action, I believe it to be mild, ( from what i have read) but does have the brakes when needed

despite what you would think it has quite a mild action. I have switched to one for my not at all strong gelding to try to encourage more self carriage and submission on the contact and it is working a treat. He seems to like it and I only have to use a very light rein.

I have quite busy hands and my horse likes the peewee as it doesnt seem to move around too much.

I like it a lot, but it doesnt suit all horses :)

Its supposed to be a very mild bit but my boy went vertical in it twice - the only times in his life he has ever gone right up. I would say its not a suitable bit for a small child who may not have very still hands :(

How about a Magic Bit? I've heard good things about those on section A and Bs as its quite a small dainty bit that seems to afford a little more control
