Okay, having read the thread about rehoming process (didn't read the article) and saw some comments about dogs being messy buggers and if you can't handle peeing in the house that one perhaps ought to consider a teddy instead.
I agree with that in part. My dogs have all peed and pooped in my house at one point or another. And as they got older and their bladders weakend or they became senile, they did it then too. I'm not squeamish about stuff like that. However, I *do* draw the line at leg cocking!!!!
I got Merlin from a breeder who kept him until he was 10 months (she'd had him neutered as he had retained a testicle - and then want to make sure he went to the right home). However, she also co-owned his litter brother who was out showing with someone else - the person who kept the brother had offered me that one to start with - but what put me off him IMMEDIATELY was that he came in to my shop and just casually cocked his leg like three times! I just feel leg cocking is really hard to stop once they start. I know that my shop is much more likely to induce that from an entire male - but what do you guys think - would a dog that insist on cocking his leg annoy you?
