I have started to use pellets as a base to absorb the pee :( and on top of the pellets he has a deep bed of straw. I just don't like the look of the pellets on there own.
Most people dampen down pellets to make them fluff up so its soft for the horse to sleep on.
However as I am only going to use them to absorb the pee I don't see the point of dampening them as you would lose some absorbency.
Views to dampen or not to dampen?

I use them on rubber matting with straw over the top. I don't wet them and it works fine, absorbing the wet far more than the straw does on it's own. Absorbs the smell as well.

I apologise for the thread hijack but I am also curious to know what the wood pellets are like to form banks? Purely because I think it makes the stables cosier and my horse enjoys her pillow (clearly a diva)

Thanks and sorry again :)
