Just been googling to try and work out where best to park the lorry (been a long time since we last took the horses there) and I've seen that the forestry commission now requires horse riders to have a permit!

Is this true?? And if so how much are they and how do you get hold of one?

Any tips re parking would also be great - if I remember rightly I think we parked in a small area before the gates where you have to pay to enter the park?

Thanks in advance. Oh and anyone who wants to join me is welcome - It'll be sometime in the week between Christmas and New Year (advance planning!!)

Thanks Sarah, will do.

I've also contacted the forestry commission who told me that a years permit costs £50! I only want to go as a one off! So he suggested that it might be cheaper to go through Jacky at the riding stables - what does he mean by this does anyone know - can she give out day permits?? I'm not paying to ride one of her horses (as lovely as some of them are, I know, I did my work experience there years ago, in the days that Dave ran it!).

Does anyone actually police the permits anyway?
