People causing trouble on yard

The yard l am at has always been really nice up until a couple of weeks ago when a girl came back onto the yard and she started getting a group of her friends to start moaning about everything. It all came to a head today when 1 of the girls horse was shod and never cleaned up properly. One of the other girls horse got a nail in it`s hoof. instead of saying somthing to her friend she started shouting at my friend that works at the stables. saying the yard hadn`t been brushed up properly. Anyway it got a bit heated and the other girl threatened to hit my friend. there was witnesses a couple of people complaines to the yo about the girl behaviour so she went to see said girl who got all cocky and said she was thinking about leaving anyway so yard owner said well if thats the case you have two weeks to get out. The girls face was a picture as l know she has been to most livery yards about here and l don`t think any will take her back. I just hope now it will go back to normal.
 
What a nightmare.

Same thing happened to my friends horse last week - livery didn't clean up after the farrier and her horse had a nail down the side of her frog. Nasty injury.

I would have been livid!!
 
a girl at our yard was like that but the YO didnt ask her to move she just moved off herslef must have been the cold shoulder she was getting from everyone! She was that bad it is so much more pleasnt now than it ever has been! Peace!
 
How horrid i really don't understand why people have to be like that.

Everyone goes to enjoy their horses and care for them, not go to a school play ground every night.

how awful, i am just about to move to a yard after always having our own place. av just bought a house away from parents, am looking forward to it but but a little apprehensive too, only 4 others on yard and will have my own field so at least can try to keep on top of poo picking etc.
 
Good for the YO. We have a set of rules at the new yard I am at. They are there for a reason; safety of horse/owner etc... and to keep the place looking tidy. Last yard I was at YO did not really have rules from outset, and so everyone made their own up... that is when there is trouble... poo not picked up, muck heap a mess, bedding everywhere, some horses being left out in the field by themselves etc..... strong personalities wanting to Rule the Roost .....
 
Well done the YO. I had to check that you weren't near Newcastle - we had somebody on a local yard who was so like that, except she did hit one of the other liveries..she moved up north. By that time I had concluded I didn't need the hassle and had moved off the yard anyway.

Thats exactly the kind of thing me YO would say!

When people do that kind of thing there are always the words no one wants to hear "can you come round to the office so we can have a chat" if you hear that you have a major problemo!

Most of the liviries are glad she got what was coming to her as she is very nasty. The only thing is she dosen`t look after her horse and half the time the girls that work on the yard look after him.
 
Well done that yard owner. When we had 15 DIY's there were inevitably some that didn't get on with each other, but the rest used to "freeze" anyone out they wanted to leave. Horrible way to get someone to move but ignoring them totally always works.
In this case the livery obviously overstepped the mark and should have been told to go.
We had one woman who used to pester us every single night at teatime despite seing me feeding the children through the window. I always went and helped look at imaginary lameness' swellings etc.
One night I was weaning a foal and my husband had disappeared up the lane with the dam, leaving me with the foal on a lungeline in a stable, it managed to barge past me and started rearing higher and higher. The yard was on top of a steep bank with a sheer drop of around 30 feet, and we got nearer to the wall by the minute. Eventually I yelled "could anyone help me, I'm in trouble!" and this livery sauntered out of her stable. I asked could she open the barn door quick, but she just looked at me and said "Not unless you say please!" of course I did.
I got the foal safely shut inside, and asked her why she hadn't been quicker to help me, "I'm a livery" she said, "I don't have to help you!"
The reply was out of my mouth without thinking, "Actually" I said, "as from the end of the month you won't be!"
She didn't take me seriously and we had to give her written notice, but she had caused loads of trouble for the other owners previously, so everyone was happy.

Sometimes it's best to lose one to gt back the good atmosphere. I'm sure things will go back to being ok once she leaves.
