HI EVERYBODY WATCH OUT THERE ARE ABOUT
It happened between 7.00am and 11.00am today, Tuesday 15th Jan 2008. The location being Chalton, nr Blunham and Moggerhanger, Beds. The Bedfordshire Police are dealing with it, sorry crime ref is at home.
They used bolt croppers to remove the padlock from the main gate and drove in. They then went through all the stables, turning the contents upside down. They even pulled out an opened large bale of haylage into the yard to look behind it. On the final stable door, they used bolt croppers on the clasp as the padlock was too strong, and again turned the contents upside down.
It appears they took nothing. And then on leaving left the main gate to the stables from the road, wide open. Luckily an internal gate prevented the horses from straying onto the road.
The police seem to think there is a gang at the moment specifically targeting yards for horse tack etc
