People on yards with individual turnout

i have individual turnout as she's the only mare on the yard (bar a two horses who are owned by the same person) and no one else wanted to share with her as they are all geldings who get attached to mares! poor girl!
she copes fine as she has horses either side she can see/talk to. only prob is over night as there's only one other left out 24/7 - but they can see each other and she doesnt seem to mind - in fact if i bring her in to ride etc and leave the stable door a jar she opens it and buggers back off to her field

we have 1 at our yard who cant cope with being in or out on her own so owner has to bring in before we all finish and turn out before they have all gone out. We do bring in if not there.

One of mine is a complete nightmare, as soon as someone brings one in he is pacing, then galloping then flat out. He is a complete wimp and he always looks for his boyfriend.

If he has horses either side and nothing has changed - nothing coming in - he is fine, however if there are horses 2 fields down - not far he will create!

My other one is Irish and seems pretty chilled - but then I only had him for 5 weeks before he went on box rest (5 months later and we're still on box rest lol!!)

Mine has to be out on his own as there are only a couple of geldings on the yard who turned into nightmares when they were turned out together (my boy was fine!) He has the mares in the field next door and is perfectly happy.

Ryan has been out on his own for the last 9 years before that he was turned out with one other he is fine can see other horses in the fields around him.
No real reason for it just the way it was when i first went to the yard there was only 3 others there and has stayed like that even now we are full which i prefer as he does not get hurt then

a girls horse on my yard at uni cannot be turned out alone, but has to be turned out every day (unless extreme weather prevents it)
He is turned out with an equally energetic mare, but also sensible enough to stop and calm down too. They are in individual turnout paddocks but they are made in a huge field by electric fencing, so even though its individual turnout its still almost full body contact etc so gvenerally none of the horses find it an issue.

My girl doesn't like being on her own but although she's in her own paddock there are horses in other paddocks all around her so she's quite content

Don't think she would settle if she couldn't see other horses.

My yard has a big field sectioned off into one acre paddock with electric fencing so although my mare is in a paddock on her own she has horses on either side of her.

My yard is lovely and relaxed and we all have our own paddocks.

My boy was fine until a new horse arrived approximately two years ago and then every time it leaves its field mine goes mental and paces until it is back. I did have a short term companion in with him and things did improve but it was temporary. This have got no better and now the owner has started bringing in the odd night here and there and so mine is left out alone with no other horses around. Up until this winter hers have always lived out, same as mine.

I have found this situation to be distressing for him and for me so have a companion pony coming to live with him. She was supposed to arrive on Sunday but the weather was so dangerously icy we had to postpone. Tomorrow is a possibility but again we are in the hands of the weather. Fingers crossed he will have a new girlfriend to share his days and nights very, very soon.

xx
