Just checking...would love to know my boy's value but scared to ask (and he is so never for sale so not really that bothered).

I spose I could look on Horsemart for similar?

I like them. I'm nosey enough to want to see whats for sale and what different people think they are worth.

How much's are so subjective - and how many people base them on what is the real market value, at say an open market sale? For instance in my yard I have a £50k yearling, and two other horses that cost 50K euro betwwen them - what did i pay for them? The £50 K yearling I was given.....and love him he went on to win 5 P2P's for me! Of the 50K euro kids, I paid £1.7K for one and £630 for the other - not world beaters yet in the world of racing - but both lovely sound, sane and still young individuals (one is 4, the other is 7)

Woot woot! (To all posts except devonlass1s...I know what you're saying chick, but that's a whole different ballgame...)

Right, Dylan, 16hh 10 year old Suffolk cross, super jumper, has jumped up to 3'3, won SJ 2'3 (work in progress - rider not horse lol!), super duper fantabulous hack, excelled at intro endurance, safe sound and sensible, the most fun you could ever have on fun rides, weight carrier, super hunter. forward, sound, sensible and safe. Oh, and coloured (means feck all to me but I know it matters to some!!). Works nicely in the school too. Photos are on my previous threads. Know this would NOT make a good advert but just wondering! Have him insured for £2k. Thoughts?? Thanks

I would say more than £2k certainly, even in todays market. Friend is loooking for something exactly like him (are you sure you don't want to sell him?!

) and I think the cheapest she's been to see was about £2.5k. Especially if he's safe and confidence giving out hacking! He sounds really lovely

id say prob about £2.5-£4 depending on a) person who wants to buy him and b) the jumping he won, was it affiliated etc? and showing expo? as that is often important too....

However if you ever sell, pretty sure my OH will give you whatever you want for him!

Lol thanks you two! It's quite hard to "market" him in that way, as he's good at so many jobs, not just one. The SJs we won were quite flukey to be honest, he always goes clear but is not fast, he's too big and I won't haul him round a jo. I do worry though that if anything happened to him he's spoilt me for any other horses, he's just so great. So I take VERY good care of him
