I writing this to warn people in the surrey/hampshire area to make sure they have locked fuel caps on their horse boxes.... because some THIEVING LOW LIVES are going around at night emptying peoples lorries of every drop of diesel!!

Its happened 3 times to our livery yard now!!!! The last time it happened was the night before last and they took it all. The poor person who owned the lorry had to take 3 trips to the petrol station with a can to get enough diesel that he could actually drive the lorry to the garage. It cost him £150!! That wasnt the first time they have stolen from that lorry either and the owner had to pay to get the fuel tank flushed out last time as well. He tried putting a pad lock on it but they just smashed it off

It also happened to our YO, they came and emptied her lorry out a few months back. The Horseboxs are only parked a few yards from the YO house but they come in the dead of night while everyone is alseep. (if it was me i'd sleep in the back of the horse box for a few nights with a shot gun handy but hey ho!)

So everyone be vigilant and make sure the fuel caps on your horseboxs, 4x4's etc are secure. What with the cost of diesel so high, horsey people should be supporting each other not stealing from each other. What is wrong with these people????

Thanks

Happening all over, Sometimes they are puncturing the petrol tank to get around the security of locked caps.
Why do you think it may be horsey people?

Yup its happening where I live. Travellers drove into our yard last night at 8 oclock pretending they were looking for something. Of course I am not saying they are responsible but their story about why they were there was a bit far fetched to say the least. This morning diesel at two places had been found to be stolen.

I was at the Thee Counties on Sunday and the Vintage Tactors couldn't parade in the main ing because someone had drained their tanks overnight.
