What do you wear over your clothes or do you get changed?

I seem to attract mud/poo/hay/water and was considering getting a waterproof boiler suit to cover up my clothes but not sure what to get and where from.

Does anyone have any tips or recommendations? Going home to get washed and changed is not an option though I could get changed at the yard I suppose?

Thanks

This yard/ work thing is a winter happening. I wear wellies, overtrousers and a waterproof for turning out and mucking out. I also keep babywipes in the car for a quick wipe over my face.

Walking across the yard has it's hazard though. I get changed at the stables where my wellies are so I'm in my school shoes til then. If my trouser hems touch the floor, they get a bit wet and farmyard 'wet can have its' own particular 'flavour', so I keep a can of Febreze in the car and squirt the hems before I go into school.
I just desperately hoping that I never teach a child who is allergic to horses.

I drop Kelly's (my part loan) owner off at work after the yard and she just changes her trousers and jacket and takes perfume with her!! :)
I worked in a pet shop so it never really mattered too much - when I worked at the Coop however if I didn't get chance for a shower, I had to wet wipe myself and febreze my hair!!!

I get changed in the car....I wear my work top under my coat but normal yard trousers and boots. Only problem is I end up with random bits of clothing in the car which can be hard to explain at times!

I used to wear a sweatshirt over the top half but joggie bottoms on the lower half and then change by bottom half in a traffic jam that I knew was always on my way in to work....

I bought a boiler suit to wear over the top of my uniform. Works a treat! About £5 from ebay!

Not waterproof though but I guess you could buy waterproof trousers and wear over the top.

I used to go straight to work from the yard and always got changed in the loo at the yard - YO even very kindly put a hook on the back of the loo door so I could hang up my work stuff and keep it out of the tackroom whilst doing the chores. Perfume and lots of baby wipes in the car always managed to keep the pongs down sufficiently that I had no complaints at work. This arrangement worked well for me for about 5 years - helped enormously that the loo at the yard is quite large and kept relatively clean. I used to take an old towel to stand on if it was wet or dirty. I don't commute now so I come home, shower and change now before walking to work.

Jogging bottoms over my trousers in the summer and my old skiing trousers or slopettes in the winter - you know its warm and its gonna be waterproof!! LW waterproof jacket in the summer and a HW w/p coat in the winter and always a hat as my hose likes to wipe his face all over you. Gloves in the winter too - summer i dont bother as i just wash my hands when I get to work but do have a kettle at the yard so might start boiling it to wash them before i leave as it can make the car steering wheel a bit whiff!!!!!!!

I could get completely changed in the tackroom as each box has it's own but its easier to Superman it jump in and out of "over clothes".

I find the biggest problem with mucking out is the smell of horse pee seems to impregnate everything you wear without you even touching the bedding..really not that attractive. I use a Monsoon parlour top and overtrousers (Mole Valley Farmers) they are lightweight and comfortable to wear and seem to prevent this problem.

If you know anyone who works at a hospital a set of scrubs are perfect for wearing over your work clothes! Sometimes wear joggers & hoody over my work clothes but the scrubs are perfect as they are so light weight I dont get too sweaty mucking out!
Also keep some baby wipes and a little bottle of the antiseptic handwash gel stuff in the car which is brilliant!

I don't often do it as I car share with my OH most days into the centre to work.
When I do though I tend to just shove on a pair of tracksuit bottoms over my work trousers and that keeps my trousers mud free. I do have waterproof over trousers somewhere I used to use, not sure where they are though....

I get changed in the trailer and have baby wipes and spray. I always wear a hat too so the smell doensn't linger in my hair.

But, I am lucky we have showers at work and I have a locker with towels and shower kit so if I get really smellie or soaked in the rain I can scrub up.

Lucky to have a shower room at my yard so i wear jeans, muckers and jumper and get changed in to work wear in the shower room.
Baby wipes and perfume in the car, make up goes on when i get to work in the car park!!!

Nightmare is if i ever have to nip to the yard in my lunch break and i haven't got time to get changed...running across the yard on tippy toes an trying to hold my trousers up must seem funny to onlookers!!! Still try and chuck a jumper over my top as i'm guaranteed to get a schnoz wipe or a snotty snort!!!!

Try and get a baseball cap as it helps on windy & rainy days to keep the mop in place.

However hard i try, i still sometimes get people picking hay off me at the coffee machine, luckily they all know i have a horse but still get the comments like "been for a roll in the hay...who was the lucky fella!!!"
