People that work with horses...

...do you ever feel like you have lost your confidence after having an accident/near miss with any of the horses you work with? I work at a stud and have had a couple of nasty kicks, one to the head (ouch) and now Im feeling nervous around the horses, mostly the ones that have kicked me but as you know if you work with baby horses you cant jump or shy away from them. Im trying to find a new job but no luck, I just dont want to completely lose my confidence with horses because of work.

Oh dear, I have to say I haven't ever lost my confidence on the ground, despite bad injuries. But have seen it happen to others.
Losing confidence on the ground esp at a stud can end up injuring you more though can't it?

Is it all horses on the stud that you feel nervous around? Or just foals, or yearlings?

I was once cornered in a stable by a big mare that I worked with, she tried to double barrel me but I had a mucking out fork in my hand and managed to scare her away

Afterwards I felt really nervous even going into a stable although I never let on I just made sure I tied the horse up and didn't go behind them!
I got over it eventually but at the time it was awful.
