cant believe the cheek of some people! Luckily its just me and my sister at our yard so no problems with borrowing each others stuff, we used to share with 2 teenagers and it drove me mad that nothing was ever where i had left it, my brushes with chestnut or pali hairs was a give away, In the end i locked them all away! shame you have to resort to that though.

Don't get me started about wheelbarrows! YM and I have the same wheelbarrow - they have 2 wheels and are big, so are easy to manoever and you can get a lot in them. They were not cheap! Everyone else (5) has small wheelbarrows and they are forever using our big ones if we are not around even though they are named and it is known when we are down! We don't mind them being used if we aren't there, but when they are being used under your nose it is just RUDE!

same here - I have a big two wheeled barrow as does my YO - seems that the whole yard considered my barrow as free game despite having my name written all over it! I used to find it left all over the place or would have to claim it off someone, although they always gave it back as soon as I got on the yard so wasn't too bad - could never find my fork though which annoyed me! It made me wonder what they all did for tools before I got there!

The worst i've had is someone borrow my bridle AND saddle without asking.
Now that's just rude.

That's why I love my yard - each stable has its own personal integrated tackroom!! No-one touches anything!!

Oh my, thank goodness I only have three other people to worry about (including YO) and since there isn't much lockable storage on our yard, I've always taken kit home where I have converted our freezing cold little pantry into a tackroom. It's annoying if I get to the yard and realise I've forgotten something, but on the plus side is I can spend hours cleaning tack in front of the telly where it's warm and comfy.
