Pointless thread but was @ Olympia last night and where we were seated the bulk of people were glued to the Dressage and were whispering to friends if needs be! APPART from 2 silly muppets behind us who were singing along out loud to some of the tracks and making stupid remarks out loud about certain horses needing better schooling etc, speaking like they were international riders ( far from it from the comments they were making) also there were a couple of others who kept slipping out to the bar and making a racket when coming back! I just wanted to scream " shut the ******* up" but didn't want to distract the horses:)

A large group of spectators like that you are going to find people who's priorities are different to yours, I'm afraid. Many will be there who's attitude will be 'I've paid my ticket money & I will enjoy my night how I want to'

Sadly some people are just rude & disrespectful :(

The year b4 last I had 2 girls behind me who 'clicked' all the horses over the jumps! Like it would make a difference! And talked the whole way through. I don't expect silence but god I could have killed them! Every horse and nearly every jump and then the analysis as to why the pole went down!! Please god not this year!

We must have had the same two sat behind us at bd nationals, lol. The sh#t they were coming out with was laughable! Really peed me off when they made a derogatory remark about a rider I have a lot of respect for, won't post what or who but needless to say we moved very quickly away from them, imo if they are that good why aren't they riding there! Just ruins it for other spectators!

We had a couple of experts behind us last year...... Got a bit annoying..... Why not go and tell John Whitaker that his horse needs x

I hate it when people do that!
When I went to the open day at Newmarket, two stupid girls were picking apart everything the commentator said! They said the horse was bay, the girls scoffed and said "Omg, it's CLEARLY black, don't they know anything?!?"
Well, if you had BOTHERED to watch and listen, they were talking about the bay one, NOT the black one!!

LOL at the Olympics we had a couple 'marking' every movement behind us.

Didn't go to Olympia today as have a hacking cough and didn't want to piss others off, so my sister went in my place.

At the dressage convention a few weeks ago there were 3 women sho never shut up :( In the end I couldn't help myself I turned round and said 'excuse me ladies' I paid good money to listen to Carl Hester so if you wouldn't mind dropping your commentary I'd really appreciate it :)

They apologised and we never heard another peep out of them. I appreciate people want to discuss parts on the demo, show or whatever but there's no need to shout IMO

Just got back from Olympia tonight and had the most annoying child behind me who whooped extremely loud through the indoor driving champs. Then kicked my seat through most of the Olympic presentation so I turned round and politely told her to stop. She looked like she was going to cry -oops. But her mother didn't stop her at any point!!! I know kids are keen, but it was a bit too much :-(

The whooping I can understand, seat kicking is inexcusable............Though perhaps I was a little excessive, in threatening to chop the little cherubs feet off if they did again, last time it happened to me.:D

I had the same aswell... a group of young girls around 12-13 year olds were sitting behind me during the mistletoe stakes and kept repeatedly saying "the horses just do it all for them and the riders just sit there doing nothing" I must admit I did giggle a bit under my breath when I heard that! :D

Another one was during the Puissance when the horses were jumping 6ft4 and the girl behind me said "my dog has jumped that big" and the girls friend next to her said "really?! A dog couldn't jump that big" and she replied saying "yeah my dog can he did it in my back garden".

Also the girl behind kept putting her knees up on my seat and catching my hair whenever she shuffled about. Bloomin annoying! Was glad when the interval came so I could get away from their blabbing of absolute nonsense about how they could do this course height on an old riding school pony!

I took my mum to Olympia last year for her birthday and have to say that the experience was a bit spoilt by some of the audience. Talking, getting up and ******ing off at all times. There was very little space between the seats and people just rocked up after the competitions had begun with enormous bags and then talked through everything.

was at Olympia last night and a woman sitting further down the row was talking/commentating particularly loudly the WHOLE way through EVERY round and what she was say was utter **** too which made it even worse! I was far enough away not to be particularly bother by her but the poor lady in front of her eventually got so fed up that she turned around a politely asked her to be quiet, this wasn't taken very well and there followed a full blown shouting match between the two of them during somebodies round !! Was unbelievable!

we had two women at the bd convention, one of them took a pone call right in the middle of the demo. she was on the phone for 10+ minutes discussing her arrangements for her horses, then once she got of the phone she then told her friend all about the conversation!!!!

We had very talkative kids behind us this year. I asked them to be quiet and she asked me who the f I thought I was. I told her I was the f who would ask for her to be thrown out. Lady next to me thanked me! Their parents were nearly as bad though so what do you expect?

We had a couple of young girls behind us coaching the riders on their rounds on how to do better pmsl, but it did bug the woman next to us though and she asked them to be quiet.
It was the rude man who decided to sit on the back of his chair during the puissance ( his seat backed onto the walkway behind the front section) that was my final straw, and i asked him to sit his butt on the seat please as i hadnt paid to see the back of his head and body thanks very much :D.
There was to much coming and going during rounds, we had top price tickets and i had a never ending stream of people walking in front of me as we were at the front of the 2nd section with the walkway in front of us and the steps to our right, i eventually asked the steward if she would ask people to wait while rounds were on before allowing them to pass, thankfully she did.

I had a lady that every time a horse jumped the wall she screamed stood up and waved arms great for her but totally blocked my view no matter how much I leaned it was really frustrating

At the Paralympics I was sat behind a group who were trying to tell their apparently able bodies friend with a twisted ankle that she would be eligible for the team! They also critiqued each performance throughout it....including immense surprise that so many riders were cantering on the wrong leg!!!! (Counter canter!) I was ready to move until they disappeared and I relaxed....then they returned with enough food to feed a small country!

Yesterday we had fun. Keep having to get up every 5 seconds for people to come and in and out of their seats. Honestly you paid all that Bl00dy money, why not just sit there and watch the show!:mad:

We had this too. Had the family from hell sitting infront of us and someone behind us too! The family infront were getting up and down every few minutes blockin our view, the little girl was very spoilt and kept shouting at her mum, brother and nan. The couple behind us kept clicking the Horses over the jump and saying how the riders should be riding etc..
