IMO she was too slow, but then I'm sure she knows her horse better than I do.

Just got in from Burghley and this is the first thread I have opened. Is that how it looked?

When I saw them, in the flesh and on the screen I didn't think that. They looked fab, especially for a first 4*

I was pleased to see that she was clearly focussing on getting round safe and sound

at a period on the day when many of the big names weren't getting round

She's had him since she was 4, they looked grand XCing at Blenheim last year

to have got this far she must know how to ride him better than anyone

(But maybe I am a little biased when it comes to this partnership and because of how I've followed them, as he is Star's half little bro!!

Well just to say again, that although she was going in a rocking horse canter.... the horse had more than enough impulsion to make it over the huge spreads and combinations safely and in good style.

She took the direct route at the big ditch, hedge, barrell combination, which a lot of the other riders had trouble with. To be honest that if no other fence was a severe test of impulsion, skill and timing.

So I still say she rode well...... Yes she was never likey to be placed, but even more reason not to push past her limit.
