Hello :) lol. I got fitted up at an Event by Wendy. And she put me in a standard size 1. I'm just over 5 foot 7 and a size 10 ish. Anyway then I came on here and saw that Dh were selling off their stock so I got one with a bargain price of half price!! Anyway now it's here I'm not sure if it's too big... It's deffo the size I was told I needed and I don't think you can get any smaller can you?? It just seems big, maybe this is because my airowear is far too short though (fact) that makes this now seem to long... And also a bit gaping around the back... Just wondering how yours fit... I've not ridden in it yet, it just seems VERY bulky and I don't remember it being so bulky when I tried the demo on.

Not sure if this helps at all but I emailed Wendy at Kan to ask why Derby House are selling them so cheap, she replied that are selling off old stock & haven't stocked derby house for over two years. She also said it was odd sizes they were selling. Not sure if helps at all.

Hmmm. This one isn't an odd size though, it clearly states standard size 1. And i know this is the one i needed because she said i was a very standard size 8-10 and my sister in law would have to have a custom one as she had a short back... I have just looked at the ids on their website and the ones fitted on their come as low as this one and look the same. I think it's because I'm very flat chested (lol) so I feel strange having a bust haha! I'll ride in it tomorrow and see how it feels... Putting it on though I can't believe I've been riding in my bp, it doesn't offer me any protection at all compared. Eeeek!

When I got mine Wendy said they were supposed to feel on the tight side when you first wear them because the side panels slide when you breathe, but also because there'll be a little give after a while. If it's too long at the back you can get it trimmed (or some people trim them themselves) and if it's too big then it may be that all you need is a better sized cover to swap onto it rather than a whole new kaboodle. I'm sure Wendy will advise - she sent me alternative covers to try before I worked out whether I was the smallest size or the second size up.

It's not possible you got the one for people who are, er, chestier when you were originally fitted for the one for people who are, er, more petite of breasticles, is it?

Haha maybe... Maybe I just need a boob job!! I'm sure the boobs are the problem actually. I've just tried it on again with my x country top. It seems better over that. I tried it over a t shirt that was all bagging out the bottom earlier. I'm sure it's the fact that I'm looking in the mirror and thinking oooooo look I've got boobies lol haha!

Excuse dreadful photos, the more I try and look at videos of everyone elses fitted I think it's right, I think it's just very different to what I'm used to... Mind you I had a horse fall three weeks ago and am still suffering with coxis pain so maybe that answers my question... Also I saw a photo of us galloping from the back and my initial reaction was "omg look how short my bp is"

Anyway here are pics, excuse my pyjama bottoms haha. The bottom of bp just about reaches the bottom of my coxic bone. What do you think? Do I look like a big bazooka lol.

It's hard to tell from your marvellous pics ;-)

Basically it's supposed to come below your rib cage so your whole ribs are protected... and it is supposed to protect your tailbone but not to be so low as to hit the saddle when sitting normally or to prevent your freedom of movement when you have to lean back a little bit. It should fit snugly around your ribs and while not squishing your boobs they shouldn't be sloshing around in there either. There are two shapes, one for flatter chests and one for bustier ones. They are a bit 'bigger' in feel than traditional BPs.

Here's how they describe the right fitting: http://www.kanteq.com/Fitting_a_KAN_body_protector.php

I had to have about an inch trimmed off the bottom of mine, as I was paranoid about it hitting the back of the saddle down drops etc. If you call Wendy at Kan she is so helpful and can discuss it with you.
