People's experience with sharers...

Only had one when I was heavily pregnant.

She used to do Saturday, it got to tea time and as she hadn't shown up, the YO called me.
Anyway, I went down and she'd taken her stuff and left, without a bye or leave.

Left me right in the lurch at 8 months pregnant.

I wouldn't have minded if she'd let me know, it was the way she did it that got my goat.

I'd have to think long and hard about whether I'd have another one.

with my old horse i had a great sharer she was really reliable and very kind to my horse but then she had an accident on him and gave up i then got another sharer who was awfull and i let her try him for a month before she started paying anything and then she rode him for amonth but i began to not like the way she was with him so i was about to give her notice when he unfortunatly died of a melanoma and as she had paid me fior the month and this was 2 weeks into the month she rang me the day after he died and asked for her money back cheeky cow i was devastated over his death i wouldnt want a sharer now with my new horse my daughter in law rides her once a week but other than that never again

I will make a stand for the people who share horses as I was a sharer once before I had my horse 7 years ago....and I think I was an excellent sharer! LOL I poo picked mucked out, but rode the horse twice a week, rugged him, fed him and turned him out etc etc. It was a great introduction for me to get back into horses and then I bought my own. However, I decided to have a sharer a few years ago and in general it was ok....until I found out the sharer was not using my saddle on my narrow 17.2 but someones elses saddle that fitted a 14.2 wide pony...... I don't have a sharer now.....

I have two very good sharers. 100% reliable, kind to the horses and capable riders. We have to be flexible though ... All of us work full time and live 45 mins drive away from the yard. It takes some juggling and organisation - and a very good and routines yard manager to keep things afloat. Both neddies are in livery during the week so we only have to worry about exercise thank goodness
