We have a lovely woods 5 mins away where I have met so many lovely people and dogs. I had been told that there had been a few dog attacks recently including 1 chap who offered £600 for lady not to report to police!! I haven't been walking there because of this but decided to today, I wish I hadn't! First dog I see, small black collie/staff mix poss? Sniffs Pepe then just goes in to full attack mode-terrier style! Owner just stood there doing nothing so (although a bad idea for Pepe's confidence) I picked him up, with attacking dog trying to hang off P's back end!!
The men then said 'it's never done this before, wouldn't hurt a fly, didn't actually bite him' etc and even had the audacity to say my dog started it! Pepe was mute throughout and was trying to get away!
I have to say I am normally a very calm person but I don't think I have ever been so angry, I came so close to bonking this chap on the head! He never once said sorry. As he walked away I noticed p did have a small puncture wound and teeth graze on belly, presumably from when I picked him up.
Rant done and I shan't be walking there in the near future. I now feel stupid as I had been warned about nasties in there. Hoping to meet friend tomorrow with her dogs so hopefully P won't have any negative feelings.
