Meowy Catkin
Meow!
People may remember that poor Percy cat was very ill with mysterious neurological symptoms and was almost put down on Xmas day. He has been recovering really well and the vet is thrilled with his progress.
He thinks that he is all better and wants to be a normal cat and do cat stuff. He's not all better.
He still wibble-wobbles on his back legs and has a lateral walk at the moment. He can trot but can't jump due to the strength not being there in is back legs yet. As he can't jump, he's pulling himself up onto sofas and beds with his front legs and gritty determination. He has only really started eating enough to not need syringed feeds on Friday and we are having to keep a close tally of what he is eating so he doesn't lose weight.
You'd think that this storm would have him sitting in front of the fire... oh no... in true Cartman style he thinks 'screw you' and off he splats (it's not elegant) out of the cat flap because *cat stuff* needs doing even when the weather is awful and he's very unhappy about being brought back in. It was so much easier when he needed to be supported with a scarf under his belly.
We have to shut him in a safe room when no-one can keep an eye on him. He's not impressed by this either. I can't wait until he's well enough to go out unaccompanied. The vet predicts this should be by the summer... he definitely has plans for tomorrow. I'm sure that it will be somewhere between the two.
Really it is a remarkable recovery and it was definitely the right decision to put him on a drip and give his body a chance to fight whatever was going on.
