Does anyone have any pics of the perfect lower leg position when the horse is just going up to go over, and in full flight over the fence??

Well I think this is pretty optimum, tho others may well disagree

Im not disagreeing with your position, but should the toe not be in and the heel further forward? Your opinion?

If you think not thats fine, just wondering how far forward the foot should be b4 its too far forward (like hunting postion!)

Miss De Meena has a super leg position over a fence.

Mary King is a real old fasioned hunting leg position - very similar to what i used to have before the BHS beat it out of me

I dont think my leg position once in full flight is bad but still when we take off i slip back into old habits.
Yogi helped a lot and gave me tips which work well, he wouldnt let me continue until i got it right, but i have to think about it for it to happen because its still doesnt come as second nature yet.

This is ok for take off....

One of the assistant Swedish team selectors told me I would get in their team if I were Swedish based on this leg position

Toe could indeed be more forward, alas I never have cracked that

For me my heel is where I would want it to be, it is under my hip and therefore pretty optimum for SJing (IM VERY HUMBLE O of course!). For XC and hunting I wouldn't be so forward, I would be in a more safety seat, so yes, I would more than likely have my leg further on the girth, but I DO have a prob with these long legs, they have to go somewhere LOL!

And if it all goes wrong, my lower leg is still in the same place

(although I do have longer stirrups in this one and a different saddle, LOL, but leg is still behind the girth)

Lucinda Green is class - just makes it look easy. I always think WFP looks effortless as well.

Will upload some of Rodrigo Pessoa from the world cup, lovely legs

. On a more serious note I think xc and sj lower legs should differ. XC you should always be slightly more behind the movement and with more weight into the heel, wheeas you want to be more flexible show-jumping. Which were you thinking of HJ?

LOL, this was taken just after - you can just about see his stirrup making a bid for freedom (quality isn't great as I had to reduce the size)
