I have read the other threads on here re cushings, and see that people are buying pergolide at the chemist etc. I have looked on various vet sites but dont seem to be able to find any. Please can some one tell me where to buy it from at around the £40- mark which has been quoted. Many many thanks Cloppy

You need to look for it under the human section as it isn't registered for equine use. Make sure you check with your vet regarding how much they are charging as mine has really wised up to the fact that we can go elsewhere and is keeping his prices much more competitive now. I have been using it on my 19 year old Cushing's pony for about six months now and apart from still having to restrict his grazing because of his low grade chronic laminitis he is looking fantastic. Good luck!

I run a yahoo groups studying Cushing's and metabolic syndrome and have arranged a mail order service with my pharmacist who will supply 100 x 1mg tablets for £43.50.

PM me for details.

Jackie

thank you for your replies . Jackie i will let you know if i need some as the pony in question isnt mine so i shall get in touch with the owner and let you know . thanks for the offer .

Simply ring around your local pharmacies - the ones on the high street. The Co-op got me a good price, but independently run one (not a chain) got me them that afternoon at a very similar price - just quicker.

Your vet will need to do you a prescription and work out the dosage.

£36 was my best quote for x 1mg (1000 mcg)
