Pergoquin vs prascend & online pharmacy recommendations

Is there any difference? It’s both pergolide but there is a minor price difference. Is it like buying named brand vs store brand? I’ve only ever used prascend from the vets but have moved to online script (which I have already) for convenience.

Also, best online pharmacy?

it says “prascend (pergolide)” so can I only get prascend then even though pergoquin is also pergolide? It’s only a £10 difference but £10 is £10 lol
 
If your script specifies Prascend, then that’s what you will be issued with

Next time ask for Pergoquin, which is the same drug but cheaper.

Don’t order from 365vet atm, their accounts have been hacked and their on line payments are down.
 
mine changed from prascend to pergoquin effortlessy. Great help to my pocket though as my vets are expanding independents and head vet explained it was something like they were in a group of vets (presumably not corporates) who then had the buying power to buy pergoquin directly at a reasonable price.
That meant they dispense it, it is slightly cheaper and above all no prescription charge and no having to upload the prescription etc.
 
After years of purchasing Prascend on line I too now buy Pergoquin directly from my vets. It’s cheaper once you factor in not having to pay for the 6 monthly scripts.

Pergoquin tablets also breaks up more readily into quarters than Prascend, which is v.useful if you need to titrate the dose up or down in teeny amounts.
 
Vets now send your prescription direct to the issuing pharmacy. I use Vetmedi and they've been great, I buy Pergoquin from them. As horse needs 2 per day I'm saving a decent amount even with the prescription fee on a 6 month prescription.
 
Script was accidentally signed for 2024 not 2025 so was rejected and vets are obviously closed. So I may not get the meds for a while and I need them before Thursday 😓
