Perhaps the RSPCA want to jump on this Bandwagon!

Poor poor pony :-( she looks miserable, far too young to be exposed to any of that. Bizarre email address to contact too?

Why doesn't anyone report it to WHW or BHS then?! Seriously - there's no point posting how disgusting it is on here - something needs to be done!

What a mature post, slagging off the RSPCA.

Maybe you could spend your time reporting such adverts rather than making an example of them and mocking charities? Just an idea of course :)

I hate Dragon Driving. It's a shame as there are a few that are the right age and look like they've been brought up properly but the majority let it down.

Looking at the background tells you the type of person selling. A statue sat on top of wall but black bags of rubbish everywhere. These people will never change.
As for RSPCA in my opinion they should have their charity status removed. They do precious little to improve the lot of animals and are a business with greedy people running it. A totally useless organisation not fit for purpose.

poor baby that is discusting, cant even be allowed to grow up properly and be a baby, makes me so angry. I see allot on there like that, who do we report to, not that it stop them doing it, but the more complaints they have the better IMO

Well if everyone on here reports it to WHW or BHS surely they will do something - there is a phone number and email address so the seller will be easy enough to find.

but then maybe he has food and water!!! oh and he been wormed!!!

but then maybe not!! as its not got 250 000 000 watching him and wouldn't be news worthy.

What would have been helpful if you had reported it to RSPCA prior to posting, then given them the opportunity to visit otherwise the advertisere could just pull advert and horse just disappears. So really your post was no help to the horse was it?

I assume you did it due to RSPCA comments re GNational? Bit spiteful eh?

Why don't you report them Moomin1?? Or better still, as it appears you are a supporter of the 'good work' of the RSPCA, report it to them??... Dare say you won't do that though will you....you'll probably just keep on whining that everyone else should do it or maybe it would be that you probably know that the RSPCA won't do anything anyway??

I have reported neglect and cruelty to the RSPCA before and everytime they have done nothing. I have a friend who had a family member who was actually employed by the RSPCA and even they thought the organisation was useless...so much so they left it!! - RSPCA are useless and are only interested in anything that they can use to promote their own image which is a very small fraction of what really goes on and yes, they should have their charity status removed.

anyone seen this little lady:: http://www.dragondriving.co.uk/horseforsale-33455.html

she's a rescue case if ever I saw one! poor little girl. Owners don't deserve her.. there's a lot I could say that wouldn't be allowed on here...

That is pathetic:mad: poor poor little thing - it has never had its feet touched either by the look of them:( I am seriously tempted to "rescue" that one:o Sadly I don't really have the time or funds for a third so won't. Surely someone in welfare monitors these sites:confused:

I have only ever had good experiences in two different areas. One was Essex the other Herts and they even came calling after we got reported re Horse laying down. When they turned up they realised old boy was 36 so did like laying. No further action as it wasnt needed. In the past they have phoned me back and fed back what they followed up on.
This kind of post should not put people reporting in the first place. But the OP should have reported this before advertising it and giving the culprits a chance to disappear.Dont blame everyone else.

Calm down, boys and girls. It may well NOT be how we'd do things, BUT..... breaking a foal to a light harness and vehicle, is not in any way detrimental, in fact it's no different from teaching a foal to be tied up.

There is no weight on the foal's back, if it's done with care, the foal will learn from an early age, and plastic bags of rubbish, or not, I see little wrong with the pic. NO IT'S NOT how I'd do things, but with care, no harm's been done.

Alec.

Not sure what to do about the 'dragondriving.co.uk' website, but i am going to give it some thought, which i suggest all sane minded horse lovers should do , because what we are seeing is appalling and something needs to be done.
With regards to the RSPCA, i have had several experiences with them involving unbelievable neglect and cruelty to local travellers ponies and they did absolutely nothing. I have nothing but contempt for them and think they should be disbanded. Myself and my family cared for several ponies who would have died if we hadn't.

Dear me, I have a great deal of respect for your sensible opinions and advice usually, but your post on this particular subject is both inaccurate and naive IMO.

I understand you are not saying that you would do this - BUT you are surely not saying that shoeing a foal of this age is harmless? And I hardly think we need believe this is a case of merely putting harness and a trap to the foal. If , as stated in the advert,it is showing great promise already, I can assure you it will have done its fair share of hammering up and down the roads already!

Also the fact that there isnt weight on the foals back is neither here nor there. When driven, all sorts of underdeveloped muscles and joints are put into unnatural use too early and at great cost to the pony's well being later in life.:(

If, as someone proposed earlier, Dragon Driving was shut down, where would all the horses and ponies advertised there go to then? They'd still exist, and still be for sale. This is a different world compared to the average HHO'er, where people do things that people on here consider wrong or cruel. To be honest, I don't see that much outright abuse or cruelty. Certainly I wouldn't be doing these things, but others have alternate ideas; not the worst, I can assure you.
