So, our little Cairn x Corgi has been diagnosed with peritonitis. His Only symptoms have been lumps and bumps, all over his body.
He had a triple biopsy and all came back benign.
He is an active, ball obsessed, crazy terrier, who although sensitive to probing of the lumps, shows no other signs or symptoms.

I now don't know what to do. I know this is very rare, and in the last 5 years our vet had only seen it in one dog (elderly).

Our vet is fantastic and suggested for now we leave it be, and see how he gets on, but I can't help but feel something isnt quite right. On a second opinion the vet was straight in with suggestions of steroids which I am contemplating.

Has anyone else had this or can offer any veterinary advice?

I am not a vet but think you may have misheard the diagnosis, peritonitis is a serious condition affecting the dog internally, they are usually extremely unwell and need urgent treatment, could you be dealing with Pemphigus? which is a skin condition, I have linked to information on it, a friends dog has it and it has responded well to steroids.
Hope this helps and sorry if I have got it wrong.

As above, I had this years ago and was rushed to hospital, it was a very close call so Im pretty sure this isnt what your dog has.

Agree with above. Peritonitis is inflammation of the peritoneum (a membrane within the abdominal cavity). It can be very serious and signs are usually vomiting, fever, painful abdomen etc. Either way hope you dog is ok
