Hi, my 7 year old Holsteiner mare has been diagnosed with "Persistent Corpus Luteum" and started on Regumate for one cycle of 12 days.

Has anyone had any experience of this? She is an absolute dream to handle from the ground all year but incredibly spooky/nappy and generally difficult to ride most of the time with absolutely no attention span! Could the diagnosis explain this particular behaviour and will Regumate help?

If anything a persistent CL should make them chill (high progesterone levels). Once you stop feeding the Regumate she should resume normal oestrous cycles

not sure but my mare had her ovary removed due to Leuteoma tumor with cystic properties and a corpus luteam attached??? - not entirely sure what all that means but basically was making her horrible to ride, tight in back and hormonal.
