Excellent news, thanks for the update.

You may want your vet to come and give him the once over once he's home, both for your own piece of mind and just in case the former loaners start any silly business.

^^^ This. Essential IMO. Basically I would ask your vet for a "vetting". It's about watching your own back AND having "evidence" should it be needed. However I strongly suspect this nasty woman is all wind and p!ss, this type usually are.

Also as others have suggested get photo's of him today; these need to be video's as well of him moving. If you can, get Slow-Motion pictures as well.

Glad you've got him back tho'! Think we've all breathed a collective sigh of relief for you today!

thanks everyone. I’m exhausted from the constant threats will be glad when he’s home safe today xx

I would be making a report to your local police about her as well as this is harassment and threatening behavior. Let them know you feel unsafe, this may be helpful if in the future she does take you to court or tries anything.

I went through something similar - upset daughter left to hand the horse over on the day. The noise from the mother was just "sound and fury" and came to nothing - except to trash her reputation in the local horse world!!

I would still do, as others have suggested, take good stock of the horse this week and make records of everything.

Just me feels sorry for the kid, left to hand over a pony she appears to be quite attached to...

Very glad he is back with you and hope he's back to full health soon.

No, I certainly felt sorry for her but that is her mother's responsibility, not OP's, so it didn't need to be brought up on this thread, especially not before OP had collected the pony.

This, I also put a horse on permanent loan and ended up rushing 3 hours to pick him up. They were also very angry and I got some abuse when I got there, I made sure I took my partner for support and I kept a record of anything message wise they sent me. I just didnt say anything, untied my horse and off we went. I never spoke to them again and thankfully didnt have anything further from them. Although they left me with a horse with severe pinworm who was itching so bad on the trailer ramp that he basically snaked us all the way home for 3 hours. They'd also cut a big chunk of his tail out right under the bottom of his tail bone, why on earth they did this I will never know. Just keep all records
