permanent loan problem

When I took my pony on Im not sure if I had the equivalent of £1000 in the bank 20 years ago, but if not and I had not taken her three generations would have been deprived of the fun of a cracking pony.

Bit of a shock I'd imagine ..... however unless you sell a horse, YOU are the legal owner who ultimately holds full responsibility for this horse while it is alive.

If you choose to permanently loan out a horse instead of selling it, then unless you are prepared to take that horse back in the blink of an eye, then think again.

I completely agree with CotswoldSJ. People need to think about the long-term implications of owning horses, and the responsibilities which come with them; lots of people do, but some people don't.

I have a horse who I am very nervous of riding but a friend of mine loves to ride her because she is very fast and unpredictable and he likes to ride this type of horse. Whereas I have become nervous with age and now do not enjoy to ride this kind of horse. My friend had a horse who threw her off. She did not want to ride it anymore. It was given to a family with teenagers who love to ride it. Thats 2 on my yard alone. Horses for courses
