Can anyone tell me a little more about this? My horse has a spavin and is on Extraflex HA and sometimes ZeroBute to try to help him.
I wonder if Pernamax might be worth trying? What is it composed of? Is it a bute replacement or something else?
Also if anyone knows about Newmarket Joint supplement I'd be interested to know more about it's composition, how to get hold of it, etc.
Thanks.

it is not a bute sub, it is a joint supplement made from green lipped mussel. I have heard some people have had really good success with this product, in fact today I have ordered some green lipped mussel for my mare to try so I will let you know how I get on.

I have never tried the Newmarket supplement due to the cost. I am sure it is an excellent product though.

My mare has Extraflex HA which I find to be very good, she also has Turmeric added to her feed which is known to work as an anti inflammatory (this is now being added to many joint supplements on the market particularly in the USA)

My mare has been on it since her hip injury last september and she will be on it for the rest of her life, she's only just turned 7 and i think when she is older will probably develop arthritus in her hip joint although the vet said she may have the startings now but we're all not 100% on it.I also add cider vinegar to her feed as this is also good for keeping joints supple.Pernamax is £25 for 1 mths supply,i've just ordered a 90 day supply at £72 ( i regularly get vouchers for £5 off via e-mail so i paid £67 really!).My mare has 4 tabs a day which is the maintenance dose and it lasts her quite a while.I'd recommend it to anyone,a lot of people havn't heard of it or are unsure and reluctant to give it a go as i was initially, it took me a few months to decide to try it! I also use the Pernamax gel on my mares hip which seems to alleviate some stiffness before/after work

I have tried it but I really don't know what to say - well, not without sounding like an advert. And I have no proof that it made him sound as there are too many influences and possibilities for it to be certain! Sorry. I am now going to try Brand X to see if the promises made by Maxavita about their superior extraction process are waffle, but I am faced with the same situation as regards outside influences and any effect they might have on my horse's limp! Ask Lynwood. I know they have used it for ages.

My horse has been on it for about 6weeks now, I got the 1 months supply and then ordered 3 months supply. My horse has an old injury to his hind fetlock which started to get a bit stiff, he has been a lot better since being on the Pernamax. However there are also some other influences which may be involved in his improvment - i.e warmer weather, being out 24/7 rather than being stabled etc. The true test will be come winter time again. So far I am pleased with the results though and would recommend it. It is supported with some clinical research (see Maxavita web page) which is better than some other joint supplements which don't seem to offer any clinical evidence.

If you have any more questions please feel free to PM me!
