Person we sold our horse to wants us to buy him back...

Hi
Thanks for all your comments :)
There is no way we could have him back unfortunately, but since we knew the lady for a bit she is happy for us to help her sell him.
We went to see him today and he is happy and as chilled out as ever. I rode him and he was as good as gold.
Hopefully we will find him a nice new home as he really is a kind pony and has such a big character!
She has decided that she has come to the end of her horsey life now, but its taken her a long time to realise this as she really didn't want to give up, but she says its her fault and that she would never get a better one for her than our old pony so this is it for her. Which is a shame as she has done loads in the past, eventing at about 3ft and hunting, so isn't novice and wasn't nervous before just hasn't got the guts anymore i guess :(
Thank you!

Don't buy him back - she can sell him on herself.

From the sound of things she has known the horse for some time - ridden him a reasonable amount over the past year and has bought him totally on the experience she has had with him.

You are not accountable for her inability to stay on him when he shies - what is she feeding him? Is he getting supplements to deal with the effect of low magnesium in the grass. Though with the drought you are experiencing this should no longer be a proble.

Take him back on the understanding that understanding that you will sell him on for her.
Tell her that you cannot afford to buy him back but will do your best to help her out.

thanks for all your replys!

good ending :) whilst she was on holiday we looked after him and in just a week have found him a lovely new home not too far away :D

he is going to a lovely girl to do a bit of everything for a bit of fun :)
