Can someone please enlighten me a little on this.

Say I was covered to ride someone elses horse and had an accident, the insurance states £15k, is that towards medical bills?

Thanks

It generally refers to major injuries like losing an eye/limb etc

If you need proper personal cover then either a rider policy (eg petplan) or personal injury policy from someone like BUPA is a better bet. When R broke his back we were delighted to find that his horse's NFU policy had a "temporary total disablement" clause which paid £30 each night he was in hospital as well as £50 a week that he cannot work- this has added up to a tidy sum towards bills for an extra premium of a few pounds

Ok, yes this policy would pay out per week too.

I have health insurance, but I'm trying to work out if there are any real benefits for having this. If I lost a limb then quite frankly £15k wouldn't mean an awful lot!!!
