I was not allowed to leave my pony this evening. I was chased and herded away from the gate and had his bum shoved in my face for him to attend to. He loves being scratched between his hind legs, if anyone saw me they would wonder what I was up to.

I have to warn people if they come and see him that he may start waving a leg at them, he just wants a scratch. Problem is that it disturbs the crab flies which make him unsettled and more demanding!

I think my mare had been watching this as after I long reined her she backed into me and asked for the same. I did say to Benji that he was to blame!

Have this with one of mine! He will back into you to get you to itch top of his bum and if you move away he will manouvere to put it back in your face. Also does it with other parts of body as when he was younger whenever he had an itch I thought I'd be nice and itch for him so now all he needs to do is hint at an itch then waits for you to do it for him

Mine does this. I swear he never used to, then I left him in 'capable hands' when I went on holiday and he's done it ever since. He'll just gently reverse into you. If you don't provide, he'll rotate and back into the next nearest person. It's worse if you're head-down poo picking and he just backs over you when you're not looking

My old mare is the same. It's a very polite presentation of bum in your face.

One of my youngsters was like that, you'd get the bum shoved in your face at every opportunity. What really cracked me up was the face he pulled when his butt was being scratched.
