I have BHS gold cover but doesn’t cover you for broken limbs etc

bit late now considering my track record but who do you use for personal injury cover and what sort of policies are they? Cover/price etc

I can’t work if I have a broken leg/arm as I don’t have a desk job.

I'm looking at this at the moment because I currently have Personal income protection instead of personal accident but it works out quite expensive by the time you add on eventing so I'm wondering if the accident cover would be a better option or if there's another option altogether.

You do need to be very careful with the providers that they will cover you for horse related accidents, a lot wont.

I don’t have anything at the minute which is a bit shortsighted.
I will be purchasing rider specific cover, or something that absolutely covers eventing etc
It’s a minefield if you don’t know what you are specifically looking for.

Tbh most rider specific policies are aimed at more major accidents - lump sum payout for loss of limb, though some will pay a nominal amount for each 24 hours in hospital after you’ve been hospitalised for a couple of days or more.
You’d be better looking at income protection, which will be pricey but that’s because you’re more likely to claim on it vs the likelihood of losing a leg.

I use a broker who specialises in equine policies and have been brilliant every time.

I don’t know if I’m allowed to put their details on here? I’m not linked to them at all other than as a customer.
