Hiya, I have a pony that I want to put on loan but stay at her present yard. I have found a lovely girl to loan her but I am worried about going ahead until I can clarify insurance issues. I am A gold BHS member so have third party insurance that comes with the membership, but I know that this would not cover me if the girl sustained an injury. (I'm not suggesting that my pony is dangerous or is likely to injure the girl, I would just rather be safe than sorry)My question is what insurance will be needed to cover myself and the girl in the case of her getting injured whilst riding or caring for the pony?

The person concerned needs to take out a personal injury insurance policy (equine). (East Essex Insurance Brokers)
As she is loaning the horse she needs to also have third party public liability insurance (no less than £10,000,000) Ten million pounds. (BHS Gold Membership).

Ok thanks for that.
I am also concerned about whether or not I need insurance for the land that the pony is kept on - I currently rent from the council.
