So I have decided I would like a nice personalised Saddlecloths for Java for when we go out competing

I have a old John Whitaker one from when I had my JC pony and I can't think where I got it from!!

I currently have two John Whitaker Velvet Saddlecloths - one navy with gold Binding and the other burgundy with gold binding.

Im a little stuck with what colour to go for so I need you experts to help be decide !!

So Java is Bright Bay and he suits his navy and burgundy one but...

His show name is Java Green (yes I know it's awful haha) so I thought about the John Whitaker Green Velvet with gold binding and the lettering in gold thread??

Would this suit a bright bay or look to dark, although the green isn't that dark!

And is there anywhere that I can buy one embroidered from the Internet as with my last John Whitaker my local embroidery shop had awful problems as the velvet was quite thick!

Thanks in advance!

I think Java is a description of Black (I have a Landrover that's Java black) so my suggestion would be a black saddlecloth, velvet maybe as that seems to be your preference and 'Java Green' in a nice metallic green thread. The metallic thread really looks great especially on dark fabrics.

My Mum runs an embroidery company http://www.deezynes.net/, she did embroidery for Team GB in the 2008 China Olympics. Give her a call maybe and explain exactly what you're looking for (Italic loopy text, embroidered on the diagonal one the left hand corner- for example) and I'm sure she can help you.

The equiport numnahs are great, i have two (just ordered one more) and they last for ages, mine are about 4 years old, washed regular but only used at shows, although we are out most weekends and they still look great. In fact someone stopped me last week and asked where they are from!

They have a good colour range too and you can choose embroidery colours and script type all online. http://www.equiport.co.uk

Thanks for the replies!!

NikCscott -

Java is used to describe lots of different colours
There is Java Black as you said
Java Red
Java Green :D
Java Blue

Thanks for the link to your mums embroidery will have a look!

I will have a look at equiport too thanks

Java also means coffee - if that's any help at all! ;)

If you put 'personalised saddlecloth' into ebay, a couple of companies come up - I haven't used them, but they have good ratings and may be worth a look.

Tynwylln Tack Shop (google welsh tack and you'll find them did mine and it is lovely, has her show name embroidered on one side, diagonal in loopy text :)
I think he'd look good in green with gold, or also Black and white as its smart :)

Well I never really looked at green and gold because I have always loved navy/gold and burgundy/gold but seeing as his show name is Java Green I thought it would look good

ooh really I didnt know it also meant coffee!

I have looked at the ebay ones they seem good quality but they dont have any pics of any green/ gold,

im hoping to try and find a John Whitaker one,

I have two and loooove them :D

i think you should have bright red with luminous pink writing in this font :D :p

i joke :) hmmmm i think you should have green on it somewhere haha itl look really nice hehe :D

oh dear lucy red and pink :/ I think Java would actually kill me for making him look ridiculous :D

I could be wrong, but Java is an island. You get (or rather, got) Javan tigers :) Maybe Javan coffee comes from Java?

My trendy SJ friends are very pro-Equiport. I would use them too, only they are lots of pennies! My bf got my a saddlecloth from Tylers, and they were very helpful and nice.

I would recomend Risley Saddelry

I got a john whitaker velvet saddlecloth embroided with my name in gold curved around a gold metallic horse shoe and they didnt seem to have any problems embroidering it :)

TinselTurkey -----

That's good news , as I compared my old JW cloth to my current two and they were thicker and I have been panicking Embroidering them would not work

xRobyn------

Im actually going on holiday to Angelsey and have to drive past Colwyn bay where that tack shop is!!
Do you reckon I could call them and ask for what I want and pick it up on the way??
I see they have John Whitaker too :D

Thanks for the pic xRobyn, by the way your horse looks lovely !

TinselTurkey ----- yes hopefully as I already know the quality of them is excellent!!

So I'm hoping for green with gold binding with Java Green on one side and my name on the other
Perfect !
