We have a bit of a pest problem at our yard, the fields are getting 'attacked' by the rabbit population and everything is getting covered in droppings from the damn pigeons.

YO has been trying to arranging someone with a ferret and gun, but keep letting us down and one of the other liveries has started to shoot them, but it's a slow process and by all means not a permanent fix. A local Church is feeding and providing nesting for the pigeons, but they won't leave our yard alone. And the rabbits (as rabbits do) are multiplying....

So, anyone know how we can get rid of all the rabbits and pigeons, quickly, easily and preferably without killing them (although if it's the best option then so be it, can you lend me a semi-automatic and/or some C4 for the rabbits ;) )

I'm not sure that there's much you can do without a bit of bloodshed, to be honest.

The only other option is to get a rook scarer that sounds like a massive shotgun off every few minutes. However, it will probably render both you, and your horses, nervous wrecks.

YO will only allow air-riffles; last time he had the big guns down his son was playing in the garden and a bit of buckshot skimmed his head. They were shooting in a field 500 yards away facing away from the lad!

Three or four reasonable shots with air rifles will help to get rid of the rabbit problem. That's what we did last year, there are usually people around who welcome the opportunity to get a bit of shooting in.

Where I live if you mentioned this in the pub you'd probably have several people offering their air rifle services, including my oh! And they wouldnt mind if the local church was feeding the pidgeons, if its a pest its fair game!

Yeah, I know several people who'd jump at the chance. You just need to be a bit careful obviously who you allow on your land, so double check and ask around if you have no personal knowledge of anyone who comes forward.
