Ok, I have owned and used a Pesoa before. However, I'm not 100% sure if they are a good thing or not. So I would be interested in people opinions. The idea of them is great and I have heard many people rant and rave over them (hence the buying of one). Yet in real life when I used it I felt it sort of sea sawed on the horses mouth even when round which I didn't feel was right/fair.

So I'd like to see what others thought because tbh im on the fence :confused:

I bought one for my mare who was lacking in muscle tone and the back specialist had advised no riding for 8 weeks, just ground work, lunging and long lining and using a pessoa. It was suggested not to use too regularly, but to alternate between using it, long lining and lunging in side reins. I found that she actually worked better in it than in side reins or long lining, she is normally a very stubborn and lazy mare who hates the thought of work, however she seemed settled in it, once she'd realised what it was asking of her. I now use it every 2 weeks or so as we are back riding now.
