Does anyone have any experience of using the pessoa lunging aid? I'm thinking of lunging my horse more over the winter and would like to use something which encourages her to stretch her neck down and loosen her shoulders and work correctly through her back. Any info on any other lunging aid would also be appreciated. :)

I use one fairly regularly. It does the job and my boy seems happy in it. I got him used to it slowly and keep it as loose as possible and never use it for more than 20mins. A friend was telling about the equiami the other day, that maybe worth a look?

I have one. It has 4 settings, although I only ever use 2 and 2, and 3 a couple of times. It's one of my preferred 'gadgets' when used correctly and iv seen it used badly many times. It's important that the horse is warmed up before you use it, and I personally always cool them off after. My mare got on well with it.

I got a similar thing from decathlon- cost about £30 when the proper pessoa ones were £90 :D Big boy goes so well in it because much to his disappointment he can't lean on it :) but I would never put it on my pony as he freaks when things wrap round his back end- I would make sure your horse is ok with lunging with 2 reins before putting one on, to avoid potential accidents :)

We use the Equi-Ami which isn't so fixed. It works extremely well and also has an extra fitting which can be used when riding.
