Pessoas? on a 17.1h?

Was looking at getting a pessoa lunging aid, was wondering whether it would actually fit pickle! He is currently lunged in a roller and side reins (which I had to lengthen and add more holes onto!

Also is it worth trying a pessoa or should I stick with lunging in side reins? never seen one that has anything apart from one size fits all and never seen one on a horse of pickles size and build!

She's a bit slighter than Pickle though !

I had one for Herc when he was in action- he is 17.2hh and built bigger than Pickle I think.
Don't know how much it would benefit him, I'm very funny about them, I've watched my mum used them but I don't know how they work so never tried one, look like the type of thing that could go wrong if you don't know what you're doing!

ah ok would fit then, that is also why I am a little on the dubious side rosie! do have friends that have used them, therefore know how to use them. Also have my instructor but not sure whether to just stick to the side reins!

Personally I would stick to the side reins, not sure how much added advantage a pessoa would give you. I'm not the greatest fan of them, especially for big horses as they are quite restrictive and they force a false outline, plus (IMO) since the bit is linked through the roller to the bit that goes under the tail, everytime the horse takes a stride he is socked in the mouth (an exaggeration of course but hope you see what I mean).

The actual pessoa is too short for Bailey who is about 17.1hh but quite wide! It puts his nose on his chest on any setting other than the long and low. My instructor has an imitation which fits him really well
