Pet cremation

Sorry to hear about Bear :( When we got Windsor PTS, the vet sorted out the cremation for us. We paid exra for an individual cremation. The vet then contacted us when the ashes were returned. It took less than a week.
 
Sorry - can't recommend anyone as vets arranged for mine as others have said.
They should explain everything to you and do all the arrangements to lessen the blow for you.

Your local vet should be able to arrange but I wouldn't go through them for the urn. Most will give you the cremated ashes in a box per se and I just found it very vulgar. Look online and you can get a nice one for half the price almost. Depending on your relationship with your pet, I also suggest pet cremation jewelry. I thought the idea was a little weird until I lost my beloved Belle. I carry some of her ashes with me inside an onyx paw print and I love it - she went everywhere with me. this is the company we went through and they were great. http://www.jewelrykeepsakes.com/ sending hugs!
 
Sorry about bear, must be hard trying to sort this out.

I'm not in your area, but perhaps ask the nurses at the vets if they've any recommendations, as that worked for us. We were going to go via the vet as our dog died suddenly, but had missed the weekly collection so would've been 2 weeks till we could collect the ashes. I'm glad now it worked out that way as the local crematorium we ended up at were great, very good to us and laid him out in a homely room so we could say a final goodbye. The ashes were ready to collect the following day and i was grateful that i didn't have to get them from our busy vets. I initially didn't think it would make much difference waiting for the ashes, but it did make me feel better to have him back home as such.
