If you have studied it many times before before making your decision as you say you have, you would realise that Pat Parelli is male, is Linda who is the lass. not read all the posts but..........

so she rides her 'normal' cobby pony around up the lanes-she sounds happy with what shes doing.if she is or isnt, its not anyone to judge her or post about her on the forum!she isnt harming the horse or anyone else.
if she wants help im sure its up to her to seek it out- be it an instructor or friend to help her.
just as you sound happy going up and down with your racehorses- that you hand over to children to ride if you cant do it.

and shes safety concious-her horse wears a hi-vis band-so what?it shoes she gives a damn about her and her animals safety and shows some road sense!there is no need to belittle that.

her horse doesnt need/have shoes-so what?is a horse only worth something if it has shoes on?!?someone better had tell my 3 sports horses that!

and her horse was older than yours-what does that even mean?some people are prefectly happy hacking and general riding-we dont have to compete/be serious riders.you dont know the story with the pony- maybe its doing really well hacking out at all?!

all those points you made are irrelevant and bound to get peoples back up because of the way you posted.

people can ride out their shetlands or competition horses in hi-vis gear for gentle hacks and no shoes.its their buisness!
 
Sorry then because I am one of those awful people who rides a pony who isn't shod behind, & guess what??? Sometimes she is naughty, sometimes I have trouble with her, she's 12, & only yesterday I had to ring my trainer for advice. Does this make me a bad rider?? Does this make me a crap bad person?? No, it just means that sometimes my legs aren't strong enough, & in the past she has frightened me, Maybe that is what has happened to this lady going about her own business, maybe like me, she got really p*** off with people sticking their oar in, people offering unwanted advice. I got great help from someone who I respect greatly & has helped me enormously, & worked on my own in between, I wish I was perfect, but unfortunately I'm not, so I just have to do the best I can. Someone did once hit her really hard on the bum while I was on her, yes it was hilarious, I ended up having a panic attack & both our confidence was shattered completely, it's taken years of hard work to get to where we want to be, but then I don't have a child to hand her over to. Rant over!!!
