Hello All

Had my rescue pony sketched for passport tonight and went to microchip turns out she is already microchipped i have searched and it is registered with petlog...

when i log the number in it says i need a id number which is given when micrchip is put in for obvious reasons i will not be able to get hold of this ...

What do i do next ? microchip number has now gone on new passport forms but any information i could find out about her would be amazing eg age breed ect....

Phone the company and ask them! There may be some way for them to give you info, and they will need to update ownership details anyhow.
 
if the pony is chipped your vet should be contacting the relevant chipping company to get previous owners details, then they should contact the previous owners to make sure the pony has not been stolen.

if the chip is not registered to anyone then the chip company should register it to you.

my horse is chipped so that if she is stolen and someone gets a passport done for her then the chip shows up and the vets chase it up, no point anyone id chipping if the vets do not do their bit

The vets I use have been part of the horse rescue and involment with charity so there are aware where i got her from but guess that doesnt say the previous owner hasnt stolen her !
 
nope did not check they may have ran checks already on the ten horses though with rspca maybe to make sure they wasnt stolen...

but ud think they would give me info on her if they had and not guess age ect...
