Pet portraits / drawings

Hello!
I posted this in the PG but didn't get much of a responce so thought here would probably be the best place for it.
My mum has recently got back into drawing after a 10 year gap, and wanted to 'have a go' at drawing horses so I gave her a pic of Jazz to try while I was out, and I came back to this -

I was thrilled

now it's not finished, she needs to add more colour to the neck and the mane, but it's not bad for a first go!
It got me thinking perhaps she should advertise to do this and earn herself a bit of pocket money, once she's more practised. I'm not talking about her giving up the day job or charging loads of money.
She loves doing it and finds it very relaxing and thought it may be a good to get a new hobby and make some pennies in the process. What do you think?
and also what would you charge?
This one is in pencils but she is fantastic with pastels, I'll post a pastel one when she has finished it

Personally I think it's about 10x harder to work in colour than ust graphite... it always confuses me!

I recently started taking the odd commission on the yard after offering to do a drawing of a friends horse... she then decided to show everyone and the next thing I knew I'd agreed to take commissions!

But it's all good, it's some money towards new long boots which I desperately need!!

While it might not exactly be a brilliant money-making career as such, it's still something fun for your mum to do in her spare time and the money makes it even more worth while, whether it's spent on nice things or necessities!
