I just feel a bit sorry for him really.

More than that i'd rather he was out of jail feeding himself (with whatever he wants to put in himself) than in prison being fed with tax payers money.
 
It's a shame you all see it like that. Pete Doherty is a very intelligent young man who has a fantastic talent. It's a shame he has a problem that he can't seem to get help with. I do feel sorry for him. I so wanted to dislike him when I saw him interviewed, I think it was on Johnathan Ross, but I must admit he came across and a really nice guy. Just wish he would sort himself out.

I am not ashamed to say I was quite wild when I was younger (I was 17 in 1977 and a punk) experimented with lots of stuff and still managed to hold down a full time job and not get arrested (and my Mum never realised

). Some people are weak and Pete Doherty has had plenty of help with rehab but chose not to take it.

I always think my mother never knows what i get upto, but i bet deep down she does. I must admit i do like Babyshambles, but it is a shame he is usually off his face on drugs.

[/ QUOTE ] Can't or won't. It seems to me that he has had every opportunity to get help but HE has not taken advantage of the help he has been offered. He has been arrested numerous times and has so far escaped prison on the grounds that he do something to sort out his addiction. At some point he has to take responsibility for his own actions and accept the consequences of those actions. Just because he is Pete Doherty should not entitle him to special consideration.
 
Yes he has had a number of occasions to get help. But what are we all the drugs squad. People say yeah I did drugs and got away with it. Or I didn't become like Pete Doherty and stopped. Some people are running away from something and perhaps he is. It just annoys me when people are sooo pleased he has been given a stint in jail and then make stupid comments about him having a bath. This is a person. When did we all become trial, judge and jury about someone elses life? You all sound like Daily Mail readers!

except that he should be made to pay for the spel inside aswell..we shouldnt have to pay for it....

This young man has had more chances because he is who he is, anyone else would have been sent inside ages ago.
He does look unsavoury and as if he could do with a wash, I hope he gets some help inside but probably will get even more drugs offered..
Of course he's a person and a mixed up one who without access to money may never have ended up in the mess he's in.
Let's just hope this gives him a wake up call.
